The Punjabi bridal look, piece by piece
A Punjabi bride's jewelry comes in a sequence tied to the ceremonies. The chooda goes on first, on the morning of the wedding. Family and friends tie the kalire to it. Then comes the wedding set: a necklace, a maang tikka or matha patti, jhumkas and often a haath phool. Buying them in one place keeps the gold tones and the scale in step.
Chooda
The red and ivory bangles a bride wears from the wedding morning. Chooda bangles are rigid, so the size has to be right. Measure at home, then check your size with us on video.
Kalire
The ornaments that hang from the chooda. Weight and fastening matter more than photos show. Most of our designs can take a photo charm or a metal charm.
The wedding set
A kundan or polki-style necklace set carries the look. Punjabi weddings are often held in big halls, so think about scale. A set that looks balanced in a mirror can disappear across a room.
Earrings and tikka
Jhumkas and a maang tikka frame the face. With a dupatta over the head at the Anand Karaj, earrings and a tikka show more than a heavy matha patti.

What jewelry does a Punjabi bride wear?
